During the past 5 years, there has been a significant increase in procedure codes specific to preventive products used and recommended by hygienists and dentists. This CE webinar will provide the latest code nomenclatures and descriptors for products used for caries management including the newly adopted D2991. This will include the “why behind the what” when selecting the most appropriate product for patients.
During this CE webinar, we will: • Explain the definitions and descriptions of the CDT Procedure Codes related to assessment for caries risk as well as the various codes for caries management products • Describe the rationale for selecting any of the caries management products for patients • Understand the ICD-10 diagnostic codes (which can be documented on a dental insurance claim form) which can be selected to describe the medical necessity of the patient to receive the product
