The Art and Science of Biologic and Biomimetic Approaches in Restorative Dentistry
Presenter: Dr. Gerald Curatola Release Date: 1/17/19

AGD Subject Code: 610 Reviewed: 2024

This CE webinar will look at the philosophy of both biologic dentistry, which seeks to offer patients the most biocompatible restorative materials, and biomimetic dentistry, a type of tooth-conserving dentistry that treats weak, fractured, and decayed teeth in a way that keeps them strong and sealed from bacterial invasion.

The use of CAD/CAM instruments and systems, as well as the growing popularity of 3-D printing in dentistry, has also necessitated the use of better hybrid ceramic materials that offer strength, flexibility and aesthetics to provide superior long-lasting results.

Based on nano-hybrid technology with an extreme high filler degree of 86 percent, Grandio blocs by VOCO offer such physical properties that mimic human dentition such as modulus of elasticity and thermo-cycling. Grandio blocs are engineered to behave like natural tooth structure and require no firing. This enables them to be antagonistically friendly and offer enhanced marginal integrity and overall longevity.

The CE webinar will review unique cases and applications with this new restorative material as well as the steps of preparation, insertion and finishing.   ( disclaimer , AGD PACE Statement )
