Ormocers (Organically Modified Ceramics) are restoratives that are based purely on silicon oxide in both the filler and the resin matrix without traditional Bis GMA monomers, making them the first ceramic based direct restorative material available to dental market. This innovative technology results in a composite material that has the lowest polymerization shrinkage (1.25% by volume) and shrinkage stress when compared to market standards. Case presentation will show universal application for anterior and posterior teeth, due to a perfect coordination of translucency and opacity that mimic natural tooth structure. The use of universal bonding agents will give the clinician a wide variety of choices in placement techniques, which will yield excellent clinical results for all direct restorative needs.
