The essence of the crown and bridge provisionalization goes far beyond traditional “temporary” methodology. A well-constructed, aesthetic provisional restoration affords the dentist and the patient the opportunity to “preview” the direction and ultimate success of the laboratory processed definitive restorations. In this CE webinar, Dr. Lowe will discuss materials and chairside techniques to enhance the provisional process for both the patient and doctor. We live in a world today where patients’ aesthetic and functional demands require the provisional restorations to be virtually indistinguishable in public from the patients’ functioning dentition during their dental treatment. Therefore, aesthetic predictability, durability, ease of fabrication, and quality provisional cementation are all very important aspects of every indirect dental procedure.
After attending this CE webinar, the participant will learn: 1) How to elevate the aesthetic and functional quality of their provisional restorations. 2) How the science of provisional dental materials has advanced to allow for increased aesthetic quality and ease of fabrication. The discussion will include provisionalization for full coverage, laminate veneers, and implant restorations. 3) About advances in provisional cements that increase retentive quality and do not compromise aesthetics, even with thin provisional restorations used in minimal prep cases.
