The technology and materials available to today’s restorative dentists offer various solutions to many complex problems. Missing tooth structure can be replaced through the use of metal-ceramic crowns. Missing teeth can be replaced by a variety of fixed prosthetics or implants. Now there is an emerging material that is Fiber Reinforced composites (FRC). The use of nonmetallic, fiber–reinforced, resin-based composite dentistry for human tooth replacement is viable for anterior and posterior indirect procedures.

Fiber-reinforced materials have a wide potential for application in a variety of clinical situations; splinting of mobile teeth, reinforcement of provisionals and FRC bridges. The clinician must understand the basic structure and limitations of each type of FRC. VOCO America, Inc has recently launched a new glass strand FRC called GrandTEC, which has favorable mechanical and strength properties. Other advantages are ease of placement, bonding and repair.

This webinar will discuss the proper selection, preparation and clinical application of a new proprietary fiber-reinforced, resin-composite and its growing popularity in today’s contemporary adhesive dentistry.
